Best island bars from around the world.

Sand between your toes, sea-salt in your hair and your kimono swaying in the gentle breeze.

All you need to finish off your island dream is a cocktail in hand.

Luckily for you iland co have done the hard work for you and found some of the best island bars from around the world.

That just leaves you with the work of picking which one you want to visit first and what to order.

Cloud 9, Fiji

Describing itself as a floating paradise, this unique bar has everything to float your boat.

With a bar and wood-fired pizzeria onboard that can be enjoyed while you lounge in a day bed or hanging chair, it would be easy to spend a whole day on this double level oasis just enjoying the amazing azure waters while listening to tunes .

If you are feeling a little more active though it is possible to enjoy a variety of water sports such as parasailing, snorkelling and paddle boarding.

Duke’s Waikiki, Hawaii

Named after the famous Hawaiian athlete, Duke Paoa Kahanamoku ( who not only won numerous Olympic medals but also introduced surfing to the U.S  and Australia!), the Barefoot Bar is not just a bar but rather an institution on Waikiki beach.

You may have to tussle with fellow tourists to get a spot but apparently the world famous Hula Pie is worth the effort. Made with macadamia nut ice cream piled high on a chocolate cookie crust and topped with chocolate fudge, whipped cream, and more macadamia nuts, this dessert might have you running off the calories for the rest of your holiday but at least it will be along some stunning beaches.

Rock Bar, Bali

On an island full of bars and nightlife, having the reputation of being the best place to enjoy a cocktail in Bali is a pretty big call.

If location is anything to go by then this place deserves its famous status.

Perched above the Indian Ocean on natural rock formations 14 meters high, this bar has views that will wow even the most well travelled soul.

Spotlights illuminate the amazing views while you dance the night away with tunes from the DJ booth that is carved into the cliff-face.

Yes this place really exists!

Rising majestically out of the Indian Ocean, Rock Restaurant is reached by either walking, boating or swimming out from Michanwi Pingwe beach…depending on the tide.

Although technically a restaurant there is a stunning panoramic terrace where you can enjoy a drink while soaking up the amazing views. We are putting this on our bar list, because seriously, who wouldn't want an excuse to visit here.

Located inside the Intercontinental Tahiti Resort in French Polynesia the Le Lotus swim-up bar is partially immersed in an exotic sand-bottomed infinity pool.

An idyllic location to sip on tropical cocktails while experiencing stunning sunsets over the nearby island of Moorea.

 Icebergs, Australia

Last but definitely not least we couldn't mention island bars without mentioning one of the most iconic bars on the biggest island in the world ( yes we know technically it is a continent but it’s surrounding completely by water so we say it’s an island too).

Located on the world famous Bondi Beach, Icebergs is coveted by locals and tourists alike. It is one of THE places to be seen. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean the bar prides itself on its informal and comfortable atmosphere. We couldn't think of a more perfect location to enjoy the offered seasonal and classic cocktails while soaking up the ambience and views with wow factor.
